Isaiah 26:1-4

  1. The situation with Iran is still a matter of great concern for Israel and the world.  The potential agreement between Iran and the world community was countered by Iran this past week.  The "agreement", in any form,  is being arranged despite the fact that it undermines the UN demand that Iran stop enrichment of uranium.  This process is only serving to legitimize Iranian enrichment programs.

    We prayed:

    • That the world would say no to the proposed Iranian amendments to the agreement.

    • Let everything that is hidden be revealed.

    • Thank you Lord for once again revealing the true colors of the Iranian agenda.

    • That the distraction of continual talks would be stopped and true motives behind the distraction would be seen.

    • Let the American Congress act despite the apparent apathy of the Obama administration towards this dangerous situation.

    • Open the eyes of all the world delegates and give them courage to do what is right.  Help them to not give into fear and economic intimidation.

    • That the Lord would make Israel ready no matter what comes out of these talks.

  2. On November 4th, the UN General Assembly will debate the Goldstone report that has criticized Israel's actions in Gaza during Operation Cast Lead.  This report, if made legitimate, would tie the hands of Israel and every other country who faces conflict with terrorist entities living in a civilian population.

    We prayed:

    • That the truth would be revealed and all the lies exposed.

    • Let there be an actual stench that rises up when the report is debated so that it would be exposed as a lie from the pit.

    • We thank the Lord that there are those in the nations who are rising up to oppose the report.  We ask that the Lord would bring forth a groundswell of opposition to rise within the member nations of the UN.

    • That the report would be clear and no more deception would fall on the people who here it read.

    • Keep not silent, O God: hold not your peace, and be not still, O God. For, your enemies make a tumult: and they that hate you have lifted up the head. They have taken crafty counsel against your people, and consulted against your hidden ones. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against you: The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assur also is joined with them: they have helped the children of Lot. Selah. Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison: Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth. Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna: Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession. O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind. As the fire burns a wood, and as the flame sets the mountains on fire; So persecute them with your tempest, and make them afraid with your storm. Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek your name, O LORD. Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; let them be put to shame, and perish: That men may know that you, whose name alone is the LORD, are the most high over all the earth.

      Psalm 83:1-18

  3. In the wake of renewed rioting by the Palestinians over the Temple Mount, we need to lift the peace of Jerusalem to the Lord.  The Palestinian Media is hyping this so much that even Abbas is now taking up the call to defend and fight for the Mosque.  This situation, if left unchecked, could easily spiral down into another Intifada.

    We prayed:

    • Thank you Lord that the Chief of Police is doing what is necessary to stop the violence and that he has declared the Temple Mount to be under Israel's authority.

    • We stand against the Israeli self-doubt that comes when the enemy accuses us.  Help the people here to have confidence in You and Your Word.

    • Thank you Lord for all your promises concerning Jerusalem.

    • That the God of Israel would be lifted up in his city and not Allah.

    • Give divine wisdom to the leaders who have the authority to make decisions about what is happening.

    • Pour out Your mercy and Your grace here so that life would be protected.

    • Out of Your mercy Lord, please quell this move toward another Intifada.

    • Reveal the true face of the enemy in the midst of this and strengthen Israel to act appropriately.

    • We proclaimed Psalm 122:1-9:

      I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. Jerusalem is buildt as a city that is compact together: Where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD. For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love you. Peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces. For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within you. Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek your good.

  4. The security of Israel's borders is always a point of prayer.  The civilians and the soldiers who live near the borders live in constant state of threat.  This past week a Katusha rocket crossed from Lebanon and landed in Northern Israel.  The borders are still vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy.

    We prayed:

    • That the Lord would hold back the powers of darkness that are encroaching on the borders of Israel.

    • Thank you Lord for all the soldiers who are defending this nation.  Encourage them as they stand guard.

    • Thank you Lord for not forgetting this nation and that You don't ever fall asleep while you watch over her.

    • Let those men and women who are standing guard be awake and alert despite the monotony.

    • We ask that all the security guards here would be ready even though they sit still for hours on end.

    • That the Lord would watch over and protect all those who are patrolling our waters in submarines.

    • Keep safe our intelligence officers and make them effective in their work.

  5. We had some very good rains yesterday, but Israel remains in desperate need of a miraculous rainy season.  We once again turned our prayers toward the water situation here in Israel.

    We prayed:

    • That the Lord would not allow the Sea of Galilee to perish for lack of water.  Open the heavens and even the depths of the earth Lord so that it would be filled to the brim.

    • May Israel continue to be a good steward of the water that it has been given.

    • Fulfill again Your promise to provide Israel with rain when they come into their inheritance.  Let the Your Land bloom and blossom.

  6. It seems that all over the world, a spirit of violence and rebellion has been released upon the children.  Israel has also seen a dramatic rise in violence among children.  The martial arts are exploding within Israel among the children.  Also, these children live in a nation that is constantly surrounded by violence.  Hope in the Lord can be their only refuge.

    We prayed:

    • That the Lord would stop this spirit from rising up among the children.

    • Don't let the children be swallowed up and reveal yourself to this young generation.

    • Forgive us as a nation for allowing this spirit to take root and influence our children. (TV, Movies, Martial Arts, etc.)

    • Raise up Godly parents who would be good role models for these young ones.

    • Give the children a hope and a future when all they see is futility.

    • Give wisdom and hope to all the teachers here in Israel.  Bless them with a vision for how to sow into the children of Israel.

  7. Behold, I will send for many fishers, says the LORD, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.

    Jeremiah 16:16

    With the rise in attacks on Jews around the world, it is vital that Jews recognize the biblical call to make Aliyah.

    We prayed:

    • Let the Jews wake up from this slumber of complacency that has come upon them by being to long away from this Land.

    • Put a disquiet in the hearts of all Jews who are abroad so that they would truly consider making Aliyah.

    • Thank you Lord for the increase in Aliyah over this past year and we pray that it would only increase.

    • Thank you for declaring it in your Word and that it will be done.

  8. Finally, we prayed for the Hebrew invitation for the Prayer Conference that will be sent out to the congregations in Israel.  We pray that there would be a strong local Israeli presence at the Conference this year.
