1. Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray. My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.

    We give thanks and praise for:

    • who You are.

    • Your glory.

    • calling Your people home to Israel.

    • You are fulfilling prophecy before our eyes.

    • You are the God of the impossible.

    • You hear our prayers

    • Your miracles in the past which give us confidence that we can trust You for the things which are yet to come.

    • You are standing with Your people and Your nation.

    • Your faithfulness to Your word.

    We will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised. So shall we be saved from our enemies. The Lord liveth and blessed be our Rock and may the God of our salvation be exalted!

  2. Demonstrations threatened

    This Wednesday was Jerusalem Day when the nation of Israel celebrated the re-unification of the city in the 6-Day War of 1967. The enemies of Israel are conceiving a plan to disrupt which will possibly start today (Friday). Sunday 5th June is the anniversary of the start of the 6-Day War according to the Gregorian Calendar. We can expect demonstrations on Sunday on the borders of Israel.

    There is talk of a second flotilla coming to Gaza in the coming weeks. Another new idea is of a "fly in" whereby large numbers of Palestinians would travel to Israel's Ben Gurion airport on July 8th with the idea of causing problems and prompting a response from Israel's authorities. In each case we are faced with a major attack on Israel's integrity and sovereignty. Pray:

    • for the command structure in Israel, the police, the navy, the airport authority, to know how to deal with these potential threats.

    • For good intelligence to know where the people are coming (three weeks ago the authorities were taken by surprise by an infiltration on the Golan Heights).

    • Despite the foul plans of the enemy, Israel will remain a nation before You forever!

    • The enemy plans to make Israel look bad. Thwart their plans, o Lord!

    • That Israel would not be lured into a harmful confrontation.

    • Protect our forces and all innocent parties.

    • For the police to be on the alert to prevent unlawful demonstrations even before they get started. May they not be afraid of using any reasonable force.

    • For the flow of intelligence to those who need to use it.

    • Expose the sources of trouble and give the world eyes to see the truth.

    • You, Lord are the supreme military strategist. Anoint the minds of Israel's strategic planners to thwart these attempts on Israel's sovereignty.

  3. United Nations (unilateral declaration of Palestinian state)

    In September there is expected to be a request for the UN to recognize a Palestinian state. It's unclear as to whether this can only happen in response to a Security Council recommendation or whether it can be done under the authority of the General Assembly alone. If the General Assembly can do it alone, it is clear that they would vote overwhelmingly in favour. Pray:

    • for Israel's government to have the wisdom to know what to do if/when the UN votes for a Palestinian state. May they have plans formed for every possible eventuality.

    • For the individual leaders involved eg. The Prime Minister, the Cabinet, the Ambassador to the UN.

    • Let all the earth fear the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

    • May the plans of the nations come to nothing!

    • You, Lord are watching over Israel, this nation which You have re-established. Show Your righteous indignation! Rise up against any attack on Your word from the kingdom of lies which hates Your people and hates Your word!

    • We don't know what to do, but our eyes are on You!

  4. United Nations (Israel's rights of settlement and government)

    According to the San Remo Treaty of 1921 the Jewish people have a right (never revoked or superceded in international law) to settle anywhere between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea (ie. Including the disputed territory currently referred to as Judea & Samaria or the West Bank). A letter was sent on 23rd May signed by some 60 international lawyers worldwide calling upon the Secretary General of the UN to recognize this.

    UN Security Council Resolution 242 following the 6-Day War in 1967 provides for Israel's right to administer the territories it occupied in that war until a legal treaty would be signed to determine the long-term status of the territories. This gives Israel the legal right to continue to administer Judea & Samaria to the present day. Pray:

    • for the Lord to raise up some brilliant legal minds able to argue the case that these historical documents are part of international law and present it to the world.

    • For Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the UN (who is apparently a believer in Jesus) to understand these things. That God would speak to him in dreams and visions, through the Bible (eg. Jeremiah 31), giving revelation of His plans and purposes for Israel. May this man see that God's word is being fulfilled in Israel today. May he receive the courage to act according to this revelation.

    • Break the Muslim hold over the United Nations!

    • Prevent the formation of a Palestinian state! The land proposed for such a state is Your land. Let Your justice prevail!

  5. Iran

    The threat from Iran has not gone away. Iran continues to pursue a nuclear weapon to destroy Israel although our attention may have been distracted by other events in the Middle East. Supreme Iranian cleric, the Ayatollah Khameini recently called for continued suicide bombings against Israel including against children. The former head of Israel's Mossad security service recently said that it would be foolish for Israel to launch a military attack on Iran. Pray:

    • that God would confuse and thwart the evil plans of Iran.

    • For alertness towards Iran in Israel's military, intelligence and political leadership, and for wisdom and courage in our actions and re-actions.

    • For a recognition of the demonic source of this incitement by the Ayatollah Khameini.

    • For Israel's air force to be prepared for whatever is coming between Israel and Iran.

    • Thwart Iran's plans and abilities to work through Hezbollah and Hamas!

    • Bring down every weapon used against Israel.

    • Give thanks for the ways computer viruses have been used to slow down the progress of the Iranian nuclear programme.

    • For the ground to swallow up Iran's nuclear plants. Show Your power, o Lord!

  6. Gilad Shalit

    There are rumours that a deal may be about to be struck for Gilad Shalit's release. We do want him to come home, but not at any cost. Every soldier has the role of "standing in the gap" on behalf of the civilians of his nation. We do not want to see Shalit released in exchange for terrorists who are going to cause the deaths of many others in Israel. Pray:

    • for a release which will be pleasing to God - not a total surrender to the wicked plans of Hamas.

    • Please Lord, touch the whole Shalit family! May Gilad know Yeshua the Son of God and King of the Jews and be saved, and may his parents and siblings be saved too!

    • Set this captive free. He has been in captivity for much too long!

    • Silence the sentimentality which would seek Gilad's release at any cost. Especially help Israel's leaders and the media to see clearly!

    • Please could he be freed via a successful military operation! If this is not possible, let there by no unjust deals and let there be a swap which is pleasing in Your sight, o Lord!

  7. Water

    A major new underground source of water has recently been discovered. Apparently the discovery took place entirely accidentally while building a railway tunnel in Jerusalem. We give thanks to God for this miraculous find, while continuing to pray for His provision of more water to meet this year's current shortfall of 1 billion cubit metres of water. Pray:

    • Thank you for Your provision of waters from the deep! We have been asking You to open up the depths. Have You any more surprises for us?

    • for a righteous use of water, against waste and against polluting the water.

    • Thank You for the rains which fell during the past week - very late in the season!

    • Make Israelis aware of how precious the water is.

    • "Hodu L'Adonai ki tov, ki le'olam chasdo" Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His mercy endures forever.

  8. Scotland Prayer Conference

    For the seventh year in succession Intercessors for Israel will be leading a week's prayer conference in Scotland. This year's conference will run from Tuesday 7th June to Monday 13th. Eliyahu Ben-Haim, Chuck Cohen and Claude Ezagouri will be the leaders.

    Recently some local councils in Scotland have been taking up a very aggressive anti-Israel stance. There are boycotts of Israeli products and books. It has been suggested that Israeli goods be labeled with a yellow Star of David. It has been stated publicly that Hamas is not a terrorist organization but that Israel is a terrorist state.

    All this is against the background of Scotland having a good history in relation to the Jewish people. The nation and specifically the Church in Scotland were, in the past, notably positive towards the Jews. Pray for the prayer conference at this strategic time for Scotland:

    • for the people of Scotland to rise up and to see the truth.

    • For the team, Eliyahu, Chuck and Claude to be united in the Holy Spirit and to have sharpness and clarity in their discernment of the directions for prayer and in their communications with the people who will gather at the conference.

    • For all the people to be used as a weapon to bring change in Scotland.

    • For spiritual eyes and ears for all.

    • Turn back this tide of anti-Semitism in Scotland!

    • Wake up the people of Scotland!

    • Replace those in government who are anti-Semitic!

    • Stir up a sense of outrage among Your people in Scotland!

    • Let the Jews in Scotland recognize this as the time to come home to Israel!

    • Nothing more or less than Your plans, o Lord, for this week of prayer!

  9. Shavuot

    From sundown on Tuesday 7th June to sundown on Wednesday 8th is the festival of Shavuot (Pentecost or the Feast of Weeks). The Jews traditionally celebrate the giving of the Law at Mount Sinai at this time, while the Church celebrates the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The Messianic congregations in Israel traditionally mark the festival by coming together from all over the country for a time of fellowship and celebration. This year one Messianic organization has called for a night of prayer from 10pm on Tuesday to 10am on Wednesday. Pray:

    • that this Shavuot would not just be a time of good fellowship but that the Messianic body would receive revelation of our responsibility to stand as priests in intercession on behalf of the nation.

    • Pour out an anointing for prayer upon Your people in Israel.

    • Unite Your people in the land of Israel! Heal the rifts which exist between us and unite us in Your truth!

    • May we not be divided over the Holy Spirit!
