1. Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, will be observed this coming Tuesday just before sunset through Wednesday just after sunset. So we started by looking at Isaiah 55:1-3.

    • Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you weigh silver for what is not bread? and your labor for what never satisfies? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, let your soul delight itself in fatness. Bow down your ear, and come to Me; hear, and your soul shall live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

    • We bless You for Your sure mercies to us and to Israel.

    • Thank You for Your Word of encouragement to us at this time of global shakings.

    • YHWH your God in the midst of you is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest in His love; He will rejoice over you with singing.

      Zephaniah 3:17

  2. With Yom Kippur approaching, we prayed next for many Jews in this nation - and in exile - to have a saving encounter with their Messiah Yeshua.

    • Abba, You promised in Ezekiel 36:23-27 to bring many Jews back to this land in unbelief and then save them. We are asking for You to do exactly that - for Your holy name's sake.

    • We plead with You to save the unsaved loved ones of Messianic Jews.

    • For many Holocaust survivors, this will be their final Yom Kippur on earth. Have mercy and save each one. The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not purposing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

    • Many IDF soldiers will not be released to come home and be with their families on Yom Kippur, but will remain on guard to protect this nation. Lord Yeshua, reveal Yourself to them. Honor their willingness to guard over Your people on this holy day.

    • Abba, remove the veil of secular Jews who only attend synagogue on the high holydays (Romans 11:25-29).

    • Abba, open up the eyes of the secular Jews who do not attend synagogue at all.

    • We ask for the salvation of many Israeli teenagers, and many of the Israeli Jews from Ethiopia and Russia.

    • Lord Yeshua, if Prime Minster Netanyahu does not know You yet, make this the season in which You draw him and his whole family unto Yourself.

    • And so all Israel shall be saved; as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob.

      Romans 11:26

  3. Recently, a false report from Israel was making its way throughout the internet. It said that there was a massive call-up of the army, giving the impression that Israel was on the verge of war. Unfortunately, many bought into it without checking with folks who actually live here and then sent it on to their contacts, etc. The Body of Messiah needs abiblical dose of discernment to deal with these kind of things - which, according to Yeshua, are both a sign of the end-times and will increase as His return draws near.

    • [Yeshua said], Take heed that no man deceive you. For many will come in My name, saying, I [Yeshua] am the Messiah, and will deceive many.

      Matthew 24:4b-5

    • Lord, protect Your Body from those who do come in Your name, declaring that You are the Messiah, and yet deceive many of Your sheep who do not measure what they hear against to Your Word.

    • Enable Your shepherds to be super discerning about false reports - regardless of where they come from.

    • Prevent these false reports from causing the Church to reject true reports from Israel!

    • Give the same spirit that You gave to the Queen of Sheba to your children. She said to the king [Solomon], It was a true report which I heard in my own land of your acts and of your wisdom. And I did not believe the words until I came and my eyes had seen. (1 Kings 10:6-7b)

    • We ask that You would use even these false reports and false prophecies for Your glory (Romans 8:28).

  4. This led us to pray for the Messianic Body in Israel.

    • Lord, we bless You for the growing, maturing Body of Messiah in Your land.

    • Pour out the gift of the discerning of spirits as well as the ability to discern truth from error.

    • If there are those who give prophetic words, let them own up to what they say and if proven wrong, to repent to the same people to whom the prophecy was given.

    • Do not allow an attitude of cynicism to pervade the Body - yet teach us to judge things biblically (1 Corinthians 2:15).

    • Abba, keep us alert - especially as the enemy is trying to overwhelm us with so much information. Aid us to know what is important and what is demonic junk-mail.

    • Lord, fill us afresh daily with Your Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18b).

  5. Iranian officials have now publically said that they lied to the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency and to the Western nations so that they could push their nuclear program forward. This confirms what we have believed for many years. Yet the only political leader who has consistently warned the world about Iran is Israeli PM Netanyahu. We prayed for him in general and specifically as he speaks to the UN General Assembly towards the end of this week.

    • Abba, we thank You for Bibi Netanyahu.

    • We ask You to protect him physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

    • O Lord, how my foes have increased! Many are the ones who rise up against me. Many are saying of my soul, there is no deliverance for him in God. Selah. But You, O LORD, are a shield for me; my glory, the One who lifts up my head.

      Psalms 3:1-3

    • Anoint Netanyahu to speak truth at the UN and to not be afraid of man. Bring this scripture to his attention before he goes: The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe. (Proverbs 29:25)

    • Impress upon him to use Your Word when he speaks before world leaders. So shall My Word be, that goes out of My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall certainly do what I sent it to do. (Isaiah 55:11)

    • Give many at the UN, an ability to hear what Israel's leader says and what You are saying through him.

    • If Netanyahu meets with US President Obama, give him discernment to know truth from lies.

    • We again proclaim Numbers 23:23 over Netanyahu's time both in the UN and at any meeting with Obama. Surely, there is no enchantment against Jacob, nor any divination against Israel. According to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What God has worked! (Numbers 23:23)

  6. We prayed for a supernatural alertness to be given to the whole nation of Israel. It is not easy to be on high alert for extended periods - yet that is exactly what the IDF and many others in Israel have had to do ever since 1948. It is exhausting and causes many to want to escape. This feeling of intense pressure comes upon the Body of Messiah and the intercessors here in Israel as well. Actually, all of those in the Body worldwide who want to follow the Lamb and stand with His land are experiencing something of this at this time.

    • Lord, as we approach the 39th anniversary of the 1973 Yom Kippur War, let this nation's leadership commit to never again being caught unawares of an enemy attack.

    • In 1973, there were many warnings - but political leaders decided to not believe, or act on, them because of their particular mindset. Do not allow Israel's current leadership to fall into that same trap.

    • Enable those who analyze the intelligence information being received from Israel's spies and satellites and collaborators to develop accurate pictures of the situation among Israel's enemies.

    • Enable Israeli intelligence services to work together and share what they have (Psalm 133:1).

    • We proclaimed Psalm 124:6-8: Blessed is YHWH, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of YHWH, who made the heavens and earth.

  7. We blessed God for the increase of the Israeli Body of Messiah since last year's high holydays.

    • We bless You for every single Israeli who has come into the Kingdom of Your Son this past year - whether here in Israel or in exile.

    • For those who have met You in exile, make them homesick over Yom Kippur and Succot - and bring them home. "This Year in Jerusalem!"

    • Protect all new believers in Messiah Yeshua and give them a deep hunger for Your Word.

    • Surround them with other believers that will lovingly help them to become Your disciples.

    • Raise up the shepherds after Your own heart that You promised to provide for Israel when You brought them back to their land (Jeremiah 3:15; 23:3-4).

  8. One of the most grievous sins in Israel is legalized abortion. The figures say around two million babies have been aborted in this nation since 1948. While IFI is not often led to pray into this situation [Thank God that there are Israeli believers who have taken this on as their main burden.], we were led to pray about this today.

    • Abba, we confess that abortion is sin - the shedding of innocent blood (Deuteronomy 21:8).

    • Have mercy on this nation, forgive it this sin and convict it of the horror of it.

    • Convict all those who are involved in this - the mother, the father or boyfriend, the doctors and nurses.

    • Lord, open up the eyes of many politicians to press for abortion to be made illegal in Israel.

    • We ask You for a miracle - cause the IDF to change its policy of two free abortions to all female soldiers.

    • We bless You for Be'ad Chaim and all of the wonderful work that this Messianic pro-life organization does. Provide for all of its needs - both financially and with workers.

  9. We ended by praying for Yad Hashmonah, a Messianic community that recently lost a lawsuit because they refused to allow same sex marriages in their banquet facilities. We asked the Lord to help them to know what to do to avoid this in the future and for Him to bless them abundantly for the strong stance that they have taken for the Word of God.

We encourage you to fast and pray for Israelis to be saved over this Yom Kippur. As they are asking God to save them and forgive them their sins, it is the perfect day for us to agree with them and see multitudes more come into His kingdom.
