1. Praise
- “Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.” (Psalm 95:2)
- Thank You, Lord that we can come to You in prayer. We desire that You would be glorified in our intercession.
- Thank You for calling us to partner with You as we pray Your will back to You.
- “He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor” (Isaiah 59:16)
- You are always faithful to Your word.
- Our prayers do not fall upon deaf ears. You are always listening.
- What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear.
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
2. Internal Security – the intermittent violence goes on and on. Most days we hear of another attack. Public transport is such a vulnerable target.
- Watch over the light railway in Jerusalem which has been a major target. Let the Arab citizens who appreciate the railway be willing to speak up and subdue the rock throwers!
- Strengthen the fathers and mothers who seek to protect their children against incitement. Make them bold and determined. Strengthen their desire to see their children live and not die.
- “Because (the wicked) considers and turns away from all the transgressions which he committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.” (Ezekiel 18:28)
- Raise up more prayer. Continue to send Your people to join Your angelic guards who are watching at the terrorism blackspots – Damascus Gate in Jerusalem, Gush Etzion Junction, Hebron, etc.
- Hold back the spirit of death. “Your covenant with death will be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand” (Isaiah 28:18)
- Meet with those who mourn as a result of this current wave of violence, and comfort them. May they see who You are and let their mourning be turned to joy.
- “For I will turn their mourning to joy, will comfort them, and make them rejoice rather than sorrow.” (Jeremiah 31:13)
- “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me… to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” (Isaiah 62:1,3)
3. Security of Israel’s Borders – Russia has announced a partial withdrawal of its forces from Syria. Israel needs to be confident that its weaponry will not fall into Hezbollah’s hands. In the South there have been some rockets fired from Gaza and sharp retaliation from the IDF in which Hamas claims children were killed.
- Keep Israel watchful and intelligence sources accurate regarding developments in Syria. Especially to what Russia is doing.
- “Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.” (2 Kings 6:12) Reveal to Israel what all the foreign kings are saying and doing!
- Keep the communication channels open and keep Israel ahead of her enemies in the weapons and techniques of cyber warfare.
- Give Israel’s leadership boldness if we need to attack again to prevent weaponry going to Hezbollah.
- Give wisdom to Israel’s leaders for the needed manpower and firepower deployment on the Lebanese and Syrian borders.
- Bring comfort to the innocent in Syria and provide places of refuge.
- Thank You, that Israel responded firmly to the rockets fired out of Gaza. Give wisdom in the selection of targets and bring comfort to any innocents caught in the firing line.
- Continue to reveal to Israel any tunnels being dug into Israel and thank You for the tunnels which have collapsed in recent months.
4. Pro-Israel Arabs – Some of the Christians in Israel have fought and won the right to refer to themselves as Aramean Christians. They generally choose to serve in the IDF and are not represented by the Arab Knesset members who take a very anti-Israel position.
- Raise up more non-Jews who seek to support and be a blessing to Israel and bless them, Lord
- “I will bless those who bless you.” (Genesis 12:3) May it be obvious to others that they are being blessed because they stand with Israel.
- Keep them working and speaking in unity so that together they can make an impact.
5. Rain – Although Israel now has the benefit of drinking water being produced by desalination, the land is still in need of rain. The level of the Sea of Galilee is dangerously low and we are approaching the end of the rainy season.
- “I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.” (Deuteronomy 11:14)
- Thank You for the rain You have given in recent days.
- We need more, soft, steady rain to soak the ground but without destroying the harvest.
- Please fill up the Sea of Galilee.
- As more new immigrants come home, we will need more water. Have mercy Lord!
- Send rain to flood the terror tunnels being dug in Gaza and cause them to collapse.
6. Aliyah –
- Thank You for bringing Your people home, that You are building up Your nation so that Your name will be glorified.
- “I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went. And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord,” says the Lord God, “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes. For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.” (Ezekiel 36:22-24)
- When the Jewish people come to visit Israel at Pesach (Passover) cause them to change their plans and decide not to go back “home” to the nations in which they were living.
- When they end the Pesach meal with “Next Year in Jerusalem”, convict them to really mean it and make it true. Cause the children to question when their parents don’t seem to mean it. Put Your power into these words!
- Remove the obstacles to Aliyah such as professional requirements which refuse to accept qualifications earned in other countries.
- Transform the Interior Ministry into a place of welcome for new olim (immigrants) rather than a place dedicated to making it as difficult as possible for new olim.
- Take away the fear of rejection which prevents many from even applying to make Aliyah.
- Let a WELCOME mat be put out for new olim at the Interior Ministry.
- Send out a good report to the Jewish people in the nations regarding the good and fruitful land which is waiting to welcome them.
- “The land… is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey.” (Numbers 14:7-8)
Shabbat Shalom!
