Shalom from Zion,
God is a Zionist! …the joy of the whole earth is mount Zion… the city of the great King.
(Ps. 48:2b; cp. Matt. 5:35); YHWH loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
(Ps. 87:2; cp. 76:68; 132:13); YHWH's anger is on all the nations … For it is the day of YHWH's vengeance; the year to repay [them] for fighting against Zion.
(Isa. 34:2a, 8; cp. 31:4; Joel 3:16-17); For Zion's sake will I not hold My peace, for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until its righteousness goes forth as brightness, and its salvation as a shining lamp.
(Isa. 62:1); I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great zeal.
(Zech. 1:14b; cp. 8:2)
Since God is not ashamed to be a Zionist, neither should we be who are called by His name.
"If the foundations are destroyed, what have the righteous done?"
This valid alternative reading from the Hebrew of Psalm 11:3 makes a lot of sense as the West presses Israel to divide God's land. Many churches, wanting to avoid being "political," have not warned their nations of God's promised judgments that come on those who do this (Ezek. 35:12-15; Joel 3:1-2; Zech. 12:9).
America's superpower status may soon be over. Ever since President Bush Sr. forced Israel to the Madrid "Peace" summit, increasingly severe judgments have fallen on our native land. It also seems God has removed His hand of restraint, allowing the US to freely follow the "flesh" (Rom. 1:24-32). Regardless of who is elected, the willful blindness and lack of prayer regarding Israel among American churches does not bode well for the US.
In Genesis 12:3 God threatens those who curse Israel (cp. Num. 24:9b). To curse
Israel means to denigrate, to dishonor, to speak harmfully or to diminish. Believers often tell Chuck of their speaking to church elders about Israel, but the elders refuse to speak the truth openly – not because they do not "get it," but because they do not want to stir up division and strife in their church. So they ignore or minimize how God is restoring Israel for His glory. 2017 is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. What would have happened if the early reformers, having grasped the truth of God's Word, yet because of fear of man, and fear of division and strife in their churches, had said nothing? The Lord YHWH has spoken; who will not prophesy?
(Amos 3:8)
Words from the Lord
At the 2010 Scotland IFI Prayer Conference, the Lord spoke this through Chuck: "Believing that I am restoring Israel today is no longer an option for My Body. Either My Body will support that which I am doing with all of My heart and soul (Jer. 32:41-42) – or they will find themselves moving further and further away from Me by various deceptive winds of doctrines. Time is short. Today if you hear My voice, harden not your heart. Stand with Me and witness to My watching over My word to perform it (Jer. 1:12)."
At the 2011 Jerusalem IFI Prayer Conference, Chuck received this: "I have said yet once more I will shake the heavens and the earth (Hag. 2:6; Heb. 12:26). That time is now. I am shaking all that can be shaken – in the nations and in your lives – so that what remains is of Me.
"Why should it surprise you that things happen faster and with more intensity? Have I not said that the end comes like a woman in childbirth – as birth pangs come closer together with increasing pain – until a child is born? And so it is – until My Son returns.
"Therefore hide yourself in Me, for the name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe (Prov. 18:10)."
"Name," in Hebraic thinking, means "essential nature." That verse encourages us that who God is – faithful, trustworthy, all powerful, all knowing, etc., – this is our protection, and since He never changes (Mal. 3:6), we can trust in who He is, regardless of what He does or does not do.
Why Bibi thinks the way he thinks
Attorney Dan Illouz, former adviser to the Knesset's coalition, and legal advisor at Israel's Foreign Ministry, gives insight into Israeli Prime Minister [PM] Bibi Netanyahu's worldview that has put him "at odds with world leaders," because Bibi stands up for what he sees is "a crucial and defining issue." He has criticized US President Obama, "for speaking of a return to the 1967 borders," and continues to confront the West about the Iranian nuclear deal.
Some see him "as an opportunistic politician more interested in his own political future than the future of the free world," yet they are wrong and "unfair," and once his worldview is understood, "his actions make sense…"
His outlook is based on two complementary values: "his father's deep skepticism…and American conservative philosophy…" Prof. Benzion Netanyahu greatly influenced his son. He was a "scholar of the Inquisition…the secretary of Ze'ev Jabotinsky, founder of Revisionist Zionism, and was an emerging professional during the time of the Holocaust." His insight into history and current events of his time gave "him a deeply skeptical outlook."
He saw "that Jewish suffering during the Inquisition was caused not only by anti-Semitic leaders but by the Jews' own utopian view of their surroundings. Their contentedness blinded them to danger." He called this "Jewish self-deception," and clearly this implied "criticism of those who let their guard down in Europe," as the Nazis came to power. [We imagine he would think the same of Jews in the West today.]
He linked up with "Revisionist Zionism, which later became the Likud," as its goals were not the creation of a "new Jew", but to make "Jews stronger by teaching them to defend themselves as a nation." Bibi's rejection of "utopian views" makes him argue "against the good intentions" of the Palestinians, and to focus on Israel's "defense requirements" in any peace deal. He rightly sees that Palestinian Authority [PA] President Abbas "is not to be trusted," and even if he is, "who knows who would take his place…?"
This also explains how he views the Iran deal. "As long as it is even partly dependent on the goodwill of Iranian leaders," who call for Israel's destruction and support terrorist groups attacking Israel, he sees the deal as ultra-dangerous; to be opposed at all costs. Again "the utopian worldview embraced" by the West, led by Obama, is seen by Bibi as "an existential danger for Israel."
Having lived in the US for part of his life, Bibi developed a strong link with "the American conservative political movement," whose proponents also reject a utopian worldview. As William Buckley once wrote, "A conservative is someone who 'stands athwart history, yelling "Stop," at a time when no one is inclined to do so, or to have much patience with those who so urge it'."
This is the role Netanyahu has taken, both with the rush to make a deal with Iran and during the Oslo Peace Accords, when the world was "mesmerized by the promise of utopian peace," and he cried "Stop!" A few years later, "the true face of arch-terrorist Arafat" was seen and the world knew Bibi was right.
Obama said that Bibi's resistance to a "utopian vision" is their main difference. Interviewed on Israeli TV a year ago, he politely criticized Bibi. "We're always trying to balance a politics of hope and a politics of fear… And given the incredible tumult and chaos taking place in the ME," the rise of Islamic State [IS], the "anti-Semitism and anti-Israeli sentiment" in the Arab world, rockets from Gaza, the strengthening of Hezbollah – all these, "justifiably, make Israelis concerned" primarily with security, which Bibi is predisposed to be. So today, "those politics and those fears are driving the government's response. I understand it. But…"
Illouz says "history has shown us prudence is the right way, while utopian projects often end up in disaster." And while he is criticized today, as "opposing what many view as positive change, history has a habit of remembering these people as the only ones who stood up against disastrous mistakes…[It ] is only logical to conclude that this is also how Netanyahu will be remembered." ("Understanding Netanyahu's mind," D. Illouz, JP Op-ed, 13 Apr. 2016)
And what is President Obama's worldview?
Boaz Bismuth said that if we returned "to the 14th century, when bubonic plague was ravaging the globe, or the early 20th century," when one's skin color determined one's fate, then we might see how blessed we are to be alive today, in what Obama, in April, called the "most peaceful era in human history"! Yet would people "in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, North Korea, Nigeria," Iran, or Europe, which is "under the double threat of IS terrorism and the rise of the radical right," agree with him?
Obama was the main force behind that evil Iranian nuclear deal. Is Iran today more peaceful; less aggressive? Yet its neighbors should sleep soundly, since Obama see this as "the most peaceful, most prosperous, most progressive era" in all history. ("Obama's view of reality," B. Bismuth, Israel Hayom Op-ed, 26 Apr. 2016)
Political analyst Judith Bergman wrote on Obama's resistance to adding the label "Islamic" to terrorism. After that Orlando attack, responding to criticism, he said, "What exactly would using this label ['radical Islam'] accomplish?…Calling a threat by a different name does not make it go away."
Bergman says this line of thinking is the height of "hypocritical dissembling," especially from the leader of the Democratic Party, "who for decades fought to entrench political correctness into American society, making it impossible to call certain things by their rightful names without facing a barrage of vilification and personal smears. The American Left has fought ceaselessly to shape language according to its ideas" and has been so successful that people are "afraid to report suspicious activity out of fear of coming across as 'Islamophobic'." This has cost lives. The security company that Orlando Muslim terrorist worked for did not report "his suspicious behavior," fearing being seen as "Islamophobic."
Israel successfully fights "terrorism precisely because it cannot afford the luxury of integrating political correctness into its security doctrines." Yet in 2011 Obama had "all references to Islam in educational materials used to train …law enforcement and national security communities…" deleted. In 2013, it was reported that many experts on Islamic terrorism were barred "from speaking to any US government counterterrorism conferences, including those of the FBI and CIA."
Exactly how "are they supposed to grapple with the urgent issue of jihad if they are prohibited from learning about" its nature? It is impossible to "fight an enemy that you are forbidden to name." ("Making America unsafe," J. Bergman, Israel Hayom Op-ed, 15 June 2016)
Obama says Islamic radicals have "perverted Islam", "twisted" its meaning. Yet most "terrorism is being carried out in the name of Islam…Jihad is not a perversion, and neither is martyrdom… These are the laws of war according to Islam," which sees the world divided into "the house of Islam, where Muslims are free to worship, and the house of war where infidels dwell." Conquest of infidels is Islam's goal according to Allah in the Quran. ("In the service of extremists," D. Eydar, Israel Hayom Op-ed, 17 June 2016)
Israeli settlers and settlements – courageous and legal
Annika Hernroth-Rothstein interviewed E. Gelman, whose brother was recently shot dead, leaving behind a pregnant wife and two sons. He also lost a brother-in-law in battle. Gelman lives in Kiryat Arba, near Hebron, and is head of its security.
He said, "We…who live here in the biblical homeland and experience the loss and the life that go with it," view it as "a privilege," which also "allows liberals in Tel Aviv to sit safely at cafes and complain about our existence."
She asked if his traumatic losses even caused him to doubt "his decision to live" in this perilous area with his family. He replied, "Traumatic events must not change our ideology, and the fact that we are hurting does not mean we are wrong."
Israeli Poet Tzur Erlich once described Israel's fate this way: "Memorial Day [for fallen soldiers and terror victims] is the price we pay for having a state. Holocaust Remembrance Day is the price we paid for not having a state." ("Remembrance is a verb," A. Hernroth-Rothstein, Israel Hayom Op-ed, 11 May 2016)
Four years ago, Bibi appointed the Edmund Levy Commission, composed of experts "to examine Israel's legal position in Judea and Samaria and provide just, coherent solutions for disputes over land." The commission rejected the lie of "occupation" and said that "settlements are not illegal or illegitimate since (1) Judea and Samaria were designated as part of the 'Jewish national home' by the League of Nations; (2) Jordan illegally occupied this area; (3) the areas acquired in the 1967 Six Day War were taken in a war of self-defense and were never part of any state, or proposed Palestinian state." For political reasons, this report has not been used to defend Israel's control over its biblical heartland. Please pray that this changes very soon. ("Jerusalem Day, or 'Occupation Day'," M. Dann, JP Op-ed, 5 June 2016)
Arabs vs. Jews – the bottom line
Liberal Arab Fred Maroun writes that anti-Zionists claim "it is the establishment of the State of Israel that created Arab hostility towards Jews." But that is a lie, as before 1948 "Jews held the inferior status of dhimmi," leading to "humiliating restrictions in their daily lives." They often faced "persecutions, arbitrary confiscations, attempted forced conversions, or pogroms…" Modern Zionism was birthed so that Jews would no longer be "victims of discrimination or massacres simply for being Jews."
The Arab world rejected the 1917 Balfour Declaration, and the 1947 UN partition plan, both of which affirmed "the right of the Jews to their own state." This Arab refusal led to several wars.
While the Arab world continues today to reject "the concept of a Jewish state of any size or shape," yet most people know that the West Bank "was called Judea and Samaria for more than 2,000 years," and that Jews "have the right to exist on that land…"
We Arabs "complain because Palestinians feel humiliated going through Israeli checkpoints," because Israel builds "in the West Bank without Palestinian permission," because it dares to defend itself against Arab terrorists. But have we the "courage to admit that waging war after war against the Jews in order to deny them the right to exist, and refusing every reasonable solution to the conflict, has led to the current situation? …
"The real Arab grievance against the Jews is that they exist. We want the Jews either to disappear or be subservient to our whims, but the Jews refuse to bend to our bigotry, and they refuse to be swayed by our threats and our slander. Who in his right mind can blame them?" ("The Arabs' Real Grievance against the Jews," F. Maroun, Gatestone Institute, 7 May 2016)
The poision of political correctness
ME Christian leaders see the Western Church as lukewarm at best. A Syrian Greek Catholic archbishop sees this as a fruit of political correctness. "But Jesus was never politically correct. He was politically just." A bishop's call is to teach, to "transmit truth…" Of course they will be criticized, but that just gives them a chance to defend the truth. ("'It Is My Dream to Behead Someone'…" Raymond Ibrahim, Gatestone Institute, 1 May 2016)
Isi Leibler says Western nations struggle with "pathetic efforts to confront the demonic global forces threatening" them. While Europe's demography is "permanently altered" by millions of Muslim immigrants, any real discussion of this is "condemned as Islamophobic." And having their minds darkened, EU nations continue to "blame the Israeli-Palestinian impasse as the principle factor inflaming Islamic terrorism…"
The growing terrorist threat has impacted political attitudes. As Muslim radicals brag of "sleepers embedded in Western society," ready to attack, the population is losing confidence in its leaders. What a set-up for the Anti-Christ, who will have answers, and an offer of "peace and security!" ("Jews & Israel in a threatened, leaderless & delusional world," I. Leibler, Israel Hayom Op-ed, 21 June 2016)
This letter to the JP Editor is brillant. "A phobia is an irrational or unreasonable fear. With terror attacks in the name of Islam perpetrated against innocent civilians throughout the world with despairing frequency, and with IS claiming it is planting terror cells throughout Europe among Syrian refugees, this certainly isn't an irrational or unreasonable fear. Quite the contrary…Where Islamic terrorism exists, there can be no Islamophobia." ("No 'phobia'," Malcolm Mandel, JP Letters to the Editor, 27 June 2016)
Daniel Gordis says the Brexit result, the UK's divorce from the EU, is "a profound validation of the very premise of Zionism."
Many "yes" votes had "nothing to do with nationalism," but focused on economics and/or on "a legitimate fear of waves of Muslim immigrants" entering Britain. So most "experts" have portrayed "anti-Brexit voters…as enlightened, worldly, open-minded," while those who voted to leave, "older, non-college educated, non-urban, distrustful of elites, xenophobic, nostalgic."
Gordis: "Older? …Non-urban? …Nostalgic? Yes." But why "xenophobic"? "They could also be described as …patriotic, as loyal to one's nation and people, as believing that Britain" has a long history of which they are not willing "to cede to a vision of a utopian, universalist world order…"
Zionism is based on a zealous "devotion to the survival of the Jewish people, shaped by an instinctive Jewish love of [their] land," It stands "against the universalist values of the now fraying EU. Zionism was about saving the Jewish people," not pretending that all peoples are the same, "about reviving a Jewish language," understanding that language makes a difference to those speaking it. "If people, believing in the innate worth of their people and their heritage are xenophobic, we Zionists are guilty as charged."
People do not want to be severed from all tradition or heritage. The EU was not just "a utopian notion; it was an assault on human nature and doomed to fail," exactly the opposite of Zionism. "One was about blending peoples and erasing borders. The other was about celebrating a people's heritage, its dreams and its revival…
"At the core of Israel lies not a conflict but an idea. That idea has been on the defensive for decades…With Brexit, millions of Britons have now declared that they, too, want to preserve their heritage; they, too, have a history of which they are proud. They, too, understand that memory matters, and that so do borders." ("Brexit & the validation of Zionism," D. Gordis, JP Op-ed, 2 July 2016)
More pathetic "peace" plots and pressures vs. Israel
We see an intensification of God's judgments on nations that try to divide His land. June 3rd – an international conference was held in Paris to do that. That day, Paris experienced its worst flooding in decades ("Paris floods peak during 'peace talk' push," Arutz 7, 3 June 2016).
June 23rd – Abbas, spewing lies and blood libels against Israel, received a standing ovation from the EU parliament. That day, Brexit passed! The EU, trying to divide God's land, was divided (Gal. 6:7). As God has set His throne in heaven and rules over all (Psa. 103:19), it is biblically sound to see His hand in this timing.
French President Hollande said that this French "initiative aims to give Israel and the Palestinians a "guarantee that the peace will be solid, long-lasting and internationally monitored." And how has that worked in Lebanon, in Gaza, in Rwanda, etc.?
The French Embassy in Israel, explaining France's reasons for this, said in total deception that apart from all other ME crises, "the Israeli-Palestinian conflict remains a central and urgent issue." ("France: Only the 2 sides can make peace," Israel Hayom, 3 June 2016)
June 22nd – Israeli President Rivlin, at the EU Parliament, said the State of Israel is not "compensation for the Holocaust," but the Holocaust proved "the necessity" of a Jewish State. He added that Europe's criticism of Israel shows "a misunderstanding and impatience toward this existential need", causing Israelis to "feel anger and frustration" over EU actions which are often seen as "unfair criticism," "condescension," or using a "double standard."
Rivlin: "Respect Israeli considerations, even when different from your own. Respect Israeli sovereignty, and the democratic process of its decision-making. Respect Israel's staunch commitment, indeed its very duty, to protect its citizens. For us it is the most sacred commandment of all." ("Rivlin: 'The State of Israel is by no means a compensation for the Holocaust'," JP, 22 June 2016)
At the EU Parliament the next day, Abbas said the Palestinians "are experiencing mass-murder of historic proportions and attacks the likes of which have never been seen or heard of ever… Israel has turned our country [sic] into an open-air prison." Then he received a standing ovation! ("Abbas: Israel is committing mass-murder," Arutz 7, 23 June 2016)
Abbas' speech, filled with lies, included, "Once the occupation ends…there will be no more terrorism in the ME, or anywhere else in the world…" [Lie #1]
"We favor a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the capital…Our hands are extended with a desire for peace…" [#2]
Abbas condemned Israeli "provocations" and asked the EU lawmakers, "Why is international law not being applied in the case of Israel?" [#3] ("Israeli control of West Bank fostering global terror, Abbas tells EU," TOI, 23 June 2016)
He also said, "Only a week ago a number of rabbis in Israel" demanded "their government poison the water to kill Palestinians [#4]." This blood libel reminds one of the 14th century, when "as plague swept across Europe, false accusations that Jews were… poisoning wells led to massacres of Jewish communities."
The PM's office responded, "In Brussels, [Abbas] showed his true face." He refuses to meet with Israeli officials, spreads lies and blood libels in the EU Parliament, and then "claims that his hand is extended in peace." Is this someone Israel should make peace with? ("Israel outraged by PA president address to EU parliament," Israel Hayom, 24 June 2016)
A new ME Quartet [UN, EU, US, & Russia] report compared the "supposed 'Israeli crimes' of settlement construction" with the PA's incitement to violence and terrorism. Bibi, in anger, replied, "Israel rejects any attempt to draw a moral equivalence between [its] construction and terrorism…" ("Quartet report compares Israeli construction to terrorism," Israel Hayom, 3 July 2016)
In July, the EUobserver said that "an internal EU document," drafted in 2015 blames the "occupation" for the current wave of terror attacks in Israel. Netanyahu disagrees, seeing "the terrorism against Israel and that now spreading around the globe," as both rooted in "Islamist extremism." A Western diplomat said this position is rejected by Europe. They see terrorism in Israel as different from the terrorism hitting Europe.
The report not only criticizes Israel's response to terrorism, it also accuses Israel of "manipulating archeological digs to denigrate Palestinian historical links to Jerusalem." The blindness of the authors of this report is beyond belief. ("Israel trying to quash discussion of EU document blaming 'occupation' for terrorism," JP, 20 July 2016)
Netanyahu goes to Africa
On a historic African visit to restore ties with several nations, Bibi said the 1994 Rwandan genocide shows "that nations cannot turn their security over to international forces," an obvious rebuke to plans to do just that between Israel and a future Palestine. He used Rwanda's experience for another point: "words matter, they have the power to kill…Rwandan radio broadcasts dehumanized people long before they were slaughtered." Since the Nazis did the same to the Jews before murdering them, he said, "So today, when we see leaders in Gaza calling for the murder of every Jew" in the world, or we "hear the Supreme Leader of Iran calling for the annihilation of Israel, we have a duty to speak out."
He also noted that, in considering the Ethiopian Jews, Israel is the only nation that has "transported black people out of Africa," but not as slaves. ("PM says Rwanda genocide teaches that countries cannot outsource security to others," JP, 6 July 2016)
Anti-Semitism refuses to die
Opening Israel's Holocaust Remembrance Day, Bibi stressed that "lies and incitement" led to the Holocaust. "Nazi propaganda" portrayed Jews as the source of all evil, as mankind's enemy. "The defamation preceded the extermination."
Unfortunately, "anti-Semitism and its lies did not die with Hitler …" Many Muslims are exposed to these hellish lies, which have also infected the West. An example is UNESCO's recent decision that Jerusalem's Temple Mount "has no link to the Jewish people." UNESCO's goal is to preserve history, yet it has just rewritten "a fundamental fact in human history…"
The Nazis blamed the Jews for everything. Today's anti-Semites blame Israel. "People once thought Zionism would cure anti-Semitism." Today some erroneously think Zionism is its cause. As Bibi said, "Hatred toward Jews comes from many primordial sources and it will not be easily eradicated."
He ended, saying to all those who want to annilate the Jews: "The State of Israel has immense power…The days in which our enemies dwell securely are over. Now it is Judea that will dwell securely." [Jer. 23:6; 32:37; 33:16; Ezek. 28:26] ("…Anti-Semitism did not die along with Hitler in the bunker," Israel Hayom, 5 May 2016)
In a June 1st interview on BBC, former British Chief Rabbi Lord J. Sacks explained that today's anti-Zionism is an incarnation of anti-Semitism, because "anti-Semitism is so socially unacceptable it can only survive" by mutating. "In the Middle Ages Jews were hated for their religion. In the 19th and 20th centuries," in post-enlightenment Europe, "you weren't allowed to hate anyone for their religion…so they were hated for their race. Today you can't hate anyone for their race, so you hate them for their nation-state." ("Rabbi Sacks explains 'the new anti-Semitism'," Arutz 7, 2 June 2016)
Clifford D. May, president of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, wrote that in relation to Jews, terrorism has "long been coupled with economic weapons. In the 1930s and early '40s, the project of serious anti-Semites was a Europe without Jews." Once he became Germany's chancellor in 1933, "Hitler proclaimed a boycott of Jewish shops," the goal being "the elimination of the Jew from the German economy." The Nazi rallying cry, "Don't buy from Jews," soon was followed by "death squads, concentration camps, gas chambers, ovens, genocide…"
After WW II, anti-Semites had a new goal – a Jew-free ME. "The Arab League immediately organized a boycott of the yishuv, the pre-state Jewish community in Palestine."
Throughout Israel's modern history, the economic war against it has continued, usually led by the Arab nations. "Today, non-state actors lead the campaign." Boycott, divestment and sanctions [BDS] activists claim to stand for "social justice," yet ignore "Muslim-on-Muslim wars…the genocide of ME Christians and Yazidis, the enslavement of girls," and the "executions of gays in Gaza, Iran" and the rest of the Muslim world." ("Terrorism & economic warfare," C. D. May, Israel Hayom Op-ed, 15 June 2016)
Jeremiah 32:41-42 came to mind when we read that "the BDS movement," has failed "in its stated aim of cutting Israel off from the world economically." A Bloomberg report showed that since the 2005 launch of BDS, foreign investment in Israel "tripled, hitting an all-time high of $285.12 billion in 2015." This should increase, as Israel's 2016 economy is "predicted to grow by 2.8% … compared to just 1.8% in the EU and US…" ("Israel boycott campaign is failing miserably, study shows," Arutz 7, 2 June 2016)
Come home
Eydar writes, "The Holocaust marked the end of the exile chapter of our history. The Final Solution completed the divorce between our people and the 'normalcy' of the Diaspora…" This was affirmed by the miraculous creation of the State of Israel in 1948.
Speaking to Jews in exile, he pleads, "Instead of remembering Zion, come to Zion. Overcome and shatter the chains of exile that have bound you for generations and come home to Israel to build your lives here." ("Jews, come home," D. Eydar, Israel Hayom Op-ed, 5 May 2016)
From "The Second Coming," by William Butler Yeats
"Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand."
